Conclusion
In conclusion, we agree that immigration is ultimately beneficial to the host countries.
Be it enhancing the labour work force of the host country or building racial diversity, clear socioeconomic benefits of immigration can be seen when the pre-conditions are met. This is exemplified in Germany’s case, where immigration has brought the country’s economy to greater heights. Therefore, immigrants are worth the effort to be integrated and accepted into the society due to the benefits they bring.
However, there will always be a downside of immigration if efforts made to include the immigrants are not successful and the host country has an unfriendly attitude towards accepting immigrants. As seen in the example of France, negative socioeconomic impacts come about, like the economic burden brought by immigrants and unequal opportunities that results in tension.
Nevertheless, this downside is only present because of the host country’s way of treating and managing the immigrants. In other words, whether immigration is ultimately beneficial or not depends on the host country. Immigrants will always bring positive impacts. It is inevitable that immigrants can bring about negative impacts, but host countries need immigrants in their countries for their own benefits in the socioeconomic aspect. Therefore, as long as the process of immigration and the immigration population are managed effectively by the host country, they can overcome the negative impacts, such that immigration becomes ultimately beneficial to them.
